Rose & Crown cottage, Aberford, West Yorks.

Graham and Sarah saw our previous project and were so inspired they decided to undertake a restoration of their own cottage in the picturesque village of Aberford.

They were keen to keep the character of the cottage, formerly a pub, so we agreed to restore some items where possible. The snug room was gutted, a new stud wall was put up which was plastered to look like an old wall!

Throughout the snug and hallway, hand scraped oak engineered flooring was installed. The planks are 200mm wide and really give the feel of old floorboards. One thing Graham was keen for was a bespoke oak bookcase to house his whisky collection and media centre. This was done using oak boards and a live-edge French oak shelf. An oak fronted electrical socket was fitted with usb ports to complete the look!

A small alcove to the side of the fireplace was crying out for some oak shelves. Graham wanted a log store to house kindle for his new log burner – a small stone hearth was fitted at the base of the alcove, with three floating French oak shelves above. This small feature adds so much character to the fireplace! A bay window at the front of the lounge got solid oak window boards with a cast iron radiator fitted below. New skirting boards were fitted throughout the ground floor.

Graham & Sarah then re-furnished the downstairs to their tastes and the cottage has a fresh, vibrant feel with Olde English character!

Phil & Brian, Chapel Allerton, Leeds

Phil & Brian were given my number by a customer that I had previously done a salon fit out for.
The have an old cottage that was in need of a full renovation. This was a huge project and they wanted a traditional look throughout. Oak was decided as the material choice and so the slippery slope began!
Our plasterer was brought in to re-plaster the whole house, he left some oak beams exposed and spent time in the lounge to board between the beams and give character to the ceilings with exposed timbers.
Oak waney edge window boards were fitted throughout the house, all with varying character and finishes, solid oak shelves fitted to a study alcove, solid oak door casings, farmhouse doors, oak architraves & skirting boards. Even some curved bespoke oak skirtings were made to match the rest!

Oak engineered flooring was fitted, and numerous small cupboards & alcoves got the oak treatment.
Cast Iron radiators were fitted throughout the house and a runner carpet fitted to the new staircase to give it the Victorian look! Two traditional bathrooms were installed and traditional cast iron ironmongery sourced for the doors.

This remains an ongoing project for Phil & Brian as it’s a big house and the kitchen project is up next!

Mr Mens Hair salon, Harrogate.

Mr Mens’ wanted to do a full refurb of their salon in the spa town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. They decided on a traditional look of oak worktops with Belfast sinks to allow their mens grooming venture to take full flight!
Solid oak sink units & cupboards. A POS unit, shaving cupboard, huge seating booth and reception counter were all pre made before the shop closed for three weeks. We worked to a strict three week window and had to put in some serious hours! During this time a week was spent re-boarding and plastering the whole 30 square meter shop, with led downlights fitted, and redecorated.

An engineered oak floor was fitted with the work area being fitted last, this included bespoke made English oak fluted columns to divide the mirrors, pistol-head taps, chrome waste fittings and Belmont recliner chairs with tan leather seats.
Traditional font glass work to the windows and canvas aprons worn by the stylists makes this salon the classiest place in town!

Rose beauty, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Rose beauty wanted a new set of stations for their salon in Kirklees. These stations incorporate a pull out drawer which keeps the work area tidy, and curved head mirrors on a wipe clean, moisture-resistant surface. They wanted to allow more light into the salon area so a fanlight was created and a piece of glass with a ‘hot pink’ rose emblem fitted!

This was actually fitted in March 2014 and still looks brand new today!

These stations are very affordable, much cheaper than the big competition and are available in almost any colour or style! Email your requirements for more details!
